The challenge

Meet APEM Ltd, a global environmental consultancy that harnesses their passion for our planet to do great things. From Marine biologists to Ecologists, they offer expert scientific advice to industries across the globe – whether it’s for renewable energy, water, utilities, or even governments.

APEM hires from an extremely shallow talent pool. When their existing strategy had little success, they knew it was time to invest in something better. Enter Creed.

APEM used programmatic ads on job boards to help fill their roles. Except it wasn’t working. So, they came to us, wondering which channels they should use to reach their dream candidates. We knew it wasn’t just about being in the right place at the right time. It was about understanding their audience first.

We got to work on researching who APEM’s candidates really were, what they wanted, and where they spent their time online. Our research found incredible insights, from the organisation’s where they chose to work and how they search for jobs to what captures their attention and what they’re searching for in their next role.

Our solution

In a niche talent world where people don’t change jobs often… well, we needed to give them a compelling reason to take the leap – and make sure APEM shined brighter than its competitors.

 

We identified three key messages to do exactly that:

  • Transformative: Current and potential employees should see a job at APEM as a chance to mould their careers and the company’s future
  • Exciting: With big growth plans and bold goals, APEM is an exciting place to be right now
  • Empowering: At APEM, you’re not just an employee. Your voice matters, and what you do every day makes a real impact there.

 

From this deep dive into their business, we moved on to crafting their essence: Make Waves.

Make Waves embodies the sentiment that every person at APEM can make a difference. To their career, the business, and the environment. Just like waves build and soar, APEM’s people have the space to lead and make ripples that matter.

Once the research was completed and the essence created, it was time to create their media campaign. We created an approach that would make waves across multiple channels, reaching not just active jobseekers but also passive audiences:
